Fly fishing holidays in the UK

Back in the good old days, the hunting and shooting house parties of the Highlands were legendary events. At Live & Let Fly, we think it’s about time the fishing got a bit more attention. That’s why we run our exclusive fly fishing holidays in the UK.

When you join a Live & Let Fly holiday, you can count on a week of camaraderie, fireside stories and fantastic food, with plenty of Highland hospitality into the bargain.

Next year’s date is from the Sat 28th July to Sat 4th Aug 2018

Fly fishing breaks in the Highlands of Scotland

Assynt is probably the best-kept secret of the Scottish Highlands. Few people make the journey to this remote corner of the north-west Highlands, but those that do never regret it.

It’s also home to some of the most exciting fly fishing in the UK. The extensive patchwork of lochs in this area hides large populations of hard-fighting wild brown trout. And in some of the lochs, you'll find freshly run sea trout and salmon. We can also organise salmon fishing on some of Scotland’s most exhilarating salmon rivers - the Inver and the Kirkaig.

Your stay in a luxurious Victorian hunting lodge

Hidden away in a glen close to Lochinver, Glencanisp Lodge, a luxurious Victorian hunting lodge, was bought by the Assynt Foundation a few years ago. It has since benefited from a £1.3 million refurbishment programme and has been decorated and furnished to an impressive standard.

Inside the Lodge, you’ll find two stunning lounges with roaring log fires, a large dining room and a drying room for wet weather gear and sporting equipment. The Lodge sleeps up to 28, with a choice of double rooms (most of which are ensuite) plus single and bunk rooms with shared bathrooms.

Wherever you go on the estate, you’ll have fantastic views of Suilven, the magnificent sugar-loaf mountain that looks out over this rugged landscape. And if you’re really lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the stags that walk through the grounds of the Lodge or hear the distinctive high-pitched whistle of the Sika deer up on the hills.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced angler, the Lodge is the perfect base for you to explore the local area. The address is Glencanisp Lodge, Lochinver, Lairg, Sutherland IV27 4LW. You can read more about it here.

Your package

Depending on your choice of room, prices range between £765 to £795 per person sharing or for single occupancy in a double room £1100 to £1200. Your package includes:
